Save the Monarchs

Red Sun Farm’s Monarch Butterfly Connection

The Monarch Butterfly is spectacular, not only for its undeniable beauty, but for its commitment in knowing what it will become and for its magnitude in making all of North America its home. One of nature’s greatest mysteries, its migration path begins in Southern Ontario, with thousands of butterflies traveling over our farms regions in Canada and the United States, then spending the winter months in Central Mexico, in the same areas that our farms call home.

At Red Sun Farms we believe that it's no coincidence that the Monarch butterfly begins and ends its journey in our farms regions. The Monarch is a symbol of commitment, strength, endurance and beauty and we use it in our logo as a reflection of our belief in commitment to quality, flavor and distance across three countries and thousands of miles.

Our Partnership with Save Our Monarchs Foundation

Red Sun Farms is teaming up with Save Our Monarchs Foundation to drive awareness and help save the monarch by encouraging milkweed planting – the monarch caterpillar’s only source of sustenance. Save Our Monarchs Foundation is a grassroots 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to saving the monarch butterflies.

In addition to offering the first 100 submissions 2 packs of milkweed seeds, Red Sun Farms will also be making a donation to the Save Our Monarchs School Pollinator Program. The School Pollinator Program provides schools with milkweed seed packets and pollinator seed packets to increase monarch butterfly host plant habitats across North America.

Congratulations to the winners of the 2024 Save the Monarchs Photo Contest!
